Reporters Ellen Garfield (Davis) and Curt Devlin (Brent) are very much in love, but working at competing newspapers. Curt’s not willing to concede that a woman can sniff out news as well as a man, and Ellen refuses to marry him until he does. But a nearby apartment fire and a mysterious murder will soon test their investigative skills.... and their feelings for each other.
