WARNER BROS. INTERNATIONAL CINEMAS provides a true state-of-the-art movie experience to audiences around the globe. Since its founding, WBIC has become the premiere Western exhibitor building multiplexes throughout the world in underscreened territories creating an infrastructure to help fuel future growth of the film cinema industry.
Since 1991, WBIC has been responsible for the creation of more than 170 cinemas and almost 1,600 screens in 11 countries internationally. WBIC milestones include being the first purpose-built multiplex cinema complexes in Portugal, Japan, Holland, Italy, China, and Taiwan; the first exhibitor to introduce D-BOX Motion Chairs outside the U.S. and Canada (in Japan); the first to introduce digital sound in the U.K.; and the first to introduce 3-D in Japan.
WBIC currently operates 60 cinemas in Japan.
