THE CW TELEVISION NETWORK, a joint venture between Warner Bros. Entertainment and CBS Corporation, made its debut on September 20, 2006 as America’s fifth broadcast network and is the only network specifically targeting viewers ages 18-34, particularly women, a demographic highly sought after by advertisers.
Delivering a total of 30 hours of programming a week, The CW offers a five-night, 10-hour primetime lineup that runs Monday through Friday, featuring such popular series as “The Vampire Diaries,” “Gossip Girl,” “Nikita,” “90210,” “America’s Next Top Model” and “Supernatural” as well as the freshman series “Hart of Dixie,” “Ringer, “The Secret Circle” and new reality series “H8R.” Heading into its sixth season, The CW has aggressively added more original programming throughout the season and added new series that complement its returning favorites to create a cohesive and highly focused primetime schedule.
In daytime, The CW broadcasts a Monday through Friday afternoon block, currently featuring “Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers,” from Telepictures Productions and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. The CW programming line-up also includes a five-hour Saturday morning animation block.
