Jon Gilbert, President, Worldwide Studio Facilities, is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of all facilities and backlot operations on the Warner Bros. Studios lot and Ranch facility in Burbank and Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the U.K., including all production, post-production and studio operation services. Gilbert is also responsible for charting the Studio’s development and strategic plan.
Under Gilbert’s direction, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities runs the foremost motion picture and television production and post-production operations in the world.
The 110-acre Burbank lot and nearby 32-acre Ranch facility are home to a complete range of production-related services, including 35 sound stages and 10 backlot sets, 16 re-recording stages, five automated dialogue replacement (ADR) stages, one scoring stage, two Foley stages and over 175 editing rooms, which handle digital and analogue audio editing.
WBSF additionally is responsible for all of the support services that keep the Studio running on a day-to-day basis, from the fire department to food services to the mailroom.
Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, a 200-acre studio outside London, opened in 2012 and includes nine sound stages and support facilities for Warner Bros. and third-party productions. WBSL is also home to the hugely popular and successful Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter.
The newest member of the WBSL family, Warner Bros. De Lane Lea, is located in the Soho area of London and was formed by the acquisition of the leading U.K. sound mixing and post-production facility in late 2012. De Lane Lea provides full post-production services to primarily U.K.-based film and TV productions, mirroring WBSF’s services in Burbank.
Gilbert was named to his current post in October of 2012, having served as President of Warner Bros. Studio Facilities since 2000. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities. He has also served as Vice President, Labor Relations, for Lorimar Telepictures and as a labor relations attorney for ABC.
A member of The State Bar of California, Gilbert graduated from University of California at Los Angeles in 1975 and Pepperdine University School of Law in 1979.
