Steven S. Spira serves as President, Worldwide Business Affairs, Warner Bros. Pictures, a post to which he was promoted in January 2004. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing the business aspects of the Studio’s worldwide operations as they pertain to development, production and distribution of theatrical films for Warner Bros. Pictures.
Prior to his current position, Spira had served as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Business Affairs, Warner Bros. Pictures since August 1999. Before that, he was Executive Vice President, Theatrical Business Affairs, a post to which he was promoted in 1996. He has also served as Senior Vice President, Theatrical Business Affairs and Vice President, Business Affairs, a position he was promoted to in 1986, after joining the Studio in 1985.
Before his affiliation with Warner Bros. Pictures, Spira was senior counsel for Twentieth Century Fox, following 10 years with the New York-based law firm of Monasch, Chazen and Stream.
Spira received his bachelor’s degree cum laude from City College of New York and his law degree from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, where he graduated as a Samuel Belkin Scholar and was a member of the Law Review. In 2009, he received The Hollywood Reporter’s Power Lawyers’ Raising the Bar Studio Lawyer Award.
