Andrew Kramer Named Executive Vice President, Business Affairs And Operations, Warner Independent Pictures
(August 22, 2003 – Burbank, CA) - Veteran entertainment attorney and business affairs executive Andrew Kramer will join Warner Independent Pictures as Executive Vice President, Business Affairs and Operations. The announcement was made today by Mark Gill, President of Warner Independent Pictures, and is effective September 2.
In his new position, Kramer will be responsible for handling all business and legal matters related to Warner Independent Pictures’ slate of motion pictures, as well as the company’s internal operations and relationships with other Warner Bros. Entertainment divisions. Kramer is currently Executive Vice President of Mike Medavoy’s Phoenix Pictures, where he serves in a similar capacity.
I've known, worked with, and had the highest level of respect for Andrew for years," Gill said. "He's exceedingly smart, strong, and personable, but he also somehow manages to defy the maddening norm of Hollywood business affairs by working fast."
“Andrew has an impressive breadth of knowledge not only about all aspects of business affairs, but also about starting up and running the operational side of a lean independent film company,” said Jeff Robinov, President of Production, Warner Bros. Pictures. “I’m very glad he’s joining the Warner Independent team.”
Prior to his tenure at Phoenix, Kramer was Chief Operating Officer of The Canton Company. He preceeded this with a position as Executive Vice President of Franchise Pictures. At Franchise, Kramer oversaw all of the company’s business and legal affairs for its productions, and was instrumental in forming Franchise’s domestic distribution arrangement with Warner Bros.
Before joining Franchise, Kramer was a principal in the entertainment department of Troop Steuber Pasich Reddick and Tobey, LLP, where he represented many motion picture studios, production and distribution companies, including Sony Pictures, Fox, Miramax, Artisan, Showtime, Mandalay Pictures, Spyglass Entertainment, Iwerks Entertainment and DirecTV.
Kramer started his career practicing entertainment law in 1991 as a sole practitioner. # # #
