Thomas Molter Named Senior Vice President, Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures International
(May 15, 2006 - Burbank, CA) – Thomas Molter has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures International (WBPI). The announcement was made today by Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President of Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures International.
Among many, Molter’s responsibilities include managing and maximizing the distribution of WBPI film product internationally. Most notably, Molter oversees the division’s strategy on international digital theatrical releases and evaluates new theatrical growth opportunities and incremental revenue streams. This includes feature distribution on alternative, emerging theatrical systems, such as IMAX and other 3D formats. Additionally, Molter is responsible for the formulation of distribution strategies in developing markets, such as China, Vietnam and Russia, in partnership with WBPI’s regional and territory offices. Molter also is spearheading WBPI’s international exhibitor relations program and is in charge of establishing and implementing divisional policies on all anti-piracy related activities.

Molter began his career at Warner Bros. in May 2004 as Vice President, Distribution for Warner Bros. Pictures International. Prior to joining WBPI, he served as Vice President and Managing Director, Worldwide All Media, for the Motion Picture Association (MPA). There, his responsibilities included formulating policy and implementing strategies to address trade and regulatory issues relating to studio theatrical, home video/optical disc, television and international distribution in the United States and abroad.
Earlier in his career, he worked for several years in television production, producing a nationally syndicated outdoor sports program based in San Francisco and serving as a business development consultant for Showtime Networks in New York and Samuel Goldwyn Television Production in Los Angeles.
Molter graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Communications/Journalism, and holds an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
