Now muggles and wizards alike can rest easy that they won't have seen the last of the Wizarding World with an announcement made this morning that there will be a second Fantastic Beasts film and—like the first—the script will be written by Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling herself. The second Beasts movie is said to have a darker edge and will explore Newt's allegiances along with other heroes of the film.

Once again directed by David Yates, who also directed four Potter films, the next Fantastic Beasts will reunite producers David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. Neil Blair, Rick Senat and Danny Cohen will serve as executive producers.

Mark your calendars; the film is slated to open on November 16, 2018.

If you just can't wait for the films, don't forget that you can always be part of the Wizarding World in person. The play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two is selling out to rave reviews in London and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme parks at Universal Studios in Orlando, Hollywood and Osaka, Japan can't be beat for a day (or two) of thrilling fun and butterbeer. And for the most in-depth Potter experience, a trip to Warner Bros. Studio London is simply without equal.
