(January 30, 2012 – Burbank, CA) – Eligible bachelors in the USA started to search for the woman of their dreams 10 years ago in the hit reality series “The Bachelor.” The series has since become a global phenomenon - with Canada being the 25th territory to produce its own local version. Warner Bros. International Television Production has licensed the format to Germany - where it is currently airing on RTL with outstanding ratings of almost 5 million viewers (23.5% market share), Hungary, Poland, Italy, Denmark and Croatia, to name a few, and continues to roll out the format around the globe with Canadian broadcaster CITYTV announcing this week that they will launch a nine episode series of the romantic reality series in the Fall. Other upcoming local versions of “The Bachelor” include; Ukraine - 2nd season of 12 episodes to launch on STB in the Spring; Romania - 1st season of 9 episodes to launch on Antenna 1 in Summer 2012; and Russia - 1st season of 10 episodes to launch on TNT in the Spring.
