“The Omega Man” Now Available On HD DVD And Blu-ray From Warner Home Video
(December 13, 2007 – Burbank, CA) – “The Omega Man” -- originally released in theatres in 1971 and now on HD DVD and Blu-Ray from Warner Home Video ($28.99 SRP) -- was the second film adaptation of Richard Matheson's novel “I Am Legend,” a high-impact, high-tension futuristic saga of a fate not far removed from reality. Charlton Heston is Robert Neville, a lone survivor in the windswept ghost town of Los Angeles in the future, after a biological war has decimated life on Earth. While Neville cruises in his convertible through sunlit streets foraging for supplies, he has to be sure to go undercover before sundown, when other "inhabitants" emerge, sinister neopeople spawned by the plague.
“I am Legend” was first filmed in 1964 as “The Last Man on Earth” starring Vincent Price. With the purchase of “The Omega Man,” “Soylent Green,” “Logan’s Run” and “Outland,” consumers will get up to $7.00 off one admission to see “I am Legend” in select theaters. Offer expires 12/29/07, while supplies last.
Warner Home Video HD DVD and Blu-ray Discs offer resolution six times higher than standard definition DVDs, as well as extraordinarily vibrant contrast and color and beautifully crisp sound. The new formats also provide a higher level of interactivity, with instant access to extra features via a seamless menu-bar where viewers can enjoy features without leaving or interrupting the film.
