“The Tyra Banks Show” To Replace “The Tony Danza Show” Fall 2005 On KGW-TV In Portland, Oregon
(December 14, 2004 – Burbank, CA & Portland, OR) – The upcoming one-hour syndicated talk show “The Tyra Banks Show” will replace “The Tony Danza Show” on Portland, Oregon’s KGW-TV, the Belo-owned NBC affiliate, in the nation’s 24th largest market beginning fall 2005.
“The Tony Danza Show” delivered a 1.6 rating/6 share during the November 2004 sweeps which is -47% in rating, -55% in share from its “Today Show 2” (3.0/11) lead-in and -52% in rating, -55% in share from the November 2003 year-ago time period (“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” 3.3/11).
“We’ve had a terrific response from stations,” said Jim Paratore, Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution and President, Telepictures Productions. “Tyra’s show is targeting the new generation of daytime viewers and stations see this as a great opportunity to build a long-term franchise and news lead-in for the future.”
