(October 15, 2001 - Glendale, CA) - “Angel in a Red Dress,” a six-minute original Internet short by noted filmmaker Zalman King, premieres on Warner Bros. Online (www.warnerbros.com) on October 15 as part of the site’s ongoing presentation of original shorts by both well-known and up-and-coming talent. “Angel in a Red Dress” follows a mysterious beauty (former Playboy Playmate Summer Altice) upon her arrival in Los Angeles. Sensing that she’s literally at the edge of the world, she travels further west, to the ocean, seeking rejuvenation, renewal and rebirth. Crossing her path on this journey to redemption are two very different men—one who misjudges her physical appearance and one whose intentions she perhaps misjudges. Shot on locations throughout Los Angeles and filled with original music, “Angel in a Red Dress” showcases King’s distinctive cinematic style, which he has honed over the last three decades, establishing himself as one of the most successful independent writer/producer/directors in motion pictures and television. Perhaps best known for the theatrical feature “9 ½ Weeks,” King has also successfully turned his trademark style to television with the long-running “Red Shoe Diaries,” one of the highest rated original series in Showtime’s history. King is currently finishing his new series, “chromiumblue.com,” for Showtime, set for a fall 2001 premiere. “Angel in a Red Dress” written and directed by King, stars Summer Altice, Maximo Morrone and Robin Thomas. The short, executive produced by Maurizio Bizzarri, was produced by Metatron Productions, Inc. for Warner Bros. Online. Among the other acclaimed original shorts available at www.warnerbros.com are “Exterminator,” starring Gary Busey and Theresa Russell; “Drum Solo,” starring Kevin Connolly, Simon Rex and Ron Lester, and “Britney 2032,” directed by Marc Sedaka, son of legendary pop musician, Neil Sedaka.
