“How To Get Rid Of Cellulite” First Film Collaboration For Warner Bros. Entertainment Polska And Andrzej Saramonowicz Greenlit For Production
(June 10, 2010 – Warsaw) – Warner Bros. Entertainment Polska, renowned Polish film maker, Andrzej Saramonowicz and his production company San Graal today announce “How to Get Rid of Cellulite,” has been greenlit for production. This is the first film project in a collaboration that will see the partners producing and distributing at least two new Polish-language films in 2010 and 2011. The release date for “How to Get Rid of Cellulite” is February 4, 2011.
With a script written by the award-winning Andrzej Saramonowicz in cooperation with the team that supported him on Polish box-office hit “Lejdis,” “How to Get Rid of Cellulite” is a comedy full of surprises and a story about female friendships that go to extremes. Whilst at an exclusive spa, two friends, Ewa (Dominika Kluźniak) and Maja (Maja Hirsch), meet the beautiful masseuse Kornelia (Magdalena Boczarska), who leads them into a series of crazy adventures. During these efforts, they form a bond based on a fundamental truth of life: obsessive men are worse than cellulite and harder to get rid of!
Director and producer Saramonowicz has already begun to assemble an impressive star cast, including: Magdalena Boczarska (as Kornelia Matejko), recently awarded Best Actress in a Leading Role at Gdynia Film Festival, Dominika Kuźniak (as a Ewa Silberberg) and Maja Hirsch as (Maja Minorska). In addition, the film will feature actors much loved by the younger generation, including: Tomasz Kot, Cezary Kosiński, Wojciech Mecwaldowski, Rafał Rutkowski, Iza Kuna, Grzegorz Małecki, and Michał Figurski, well known radio presenter. Shooting will begin this summer.
This partnership between Saramonowicz and San Graal and Warner Bros. Entertainment Polska is part of Warner Bros.’ highly successful local language production business, with involvement in over 300 films in ten major markets, since 1999.
“Andrzej Saramonowicz is an outstandingly talented writer, director and producer, and we are delighted to be green-lighting ‘How to Get Rid of Cellulite,’” our first production together. This partnership with Andrzej Saramonowicz is an important part of Warner Bros.’ local language production strategy in Poland, reflecting our shared ambition to create and distribute films across Poland that combine strong artistic value, critical recognition and commercial success,” said Richard J Fox, Executive Vice President, International, Warner Bros.
“We are confident that ‘How to Get Rid of Cellulite’ will be a comedy in the tradition of ‘Testosteron’ and ‘Lejdis,’ combining unique comedic situations with the dialogues and insight that have made Andrzej Saramonowicz the most successful comedy director in Poland in the last decade,” said Waldemar Saniewski, Managing Director, Warner Bros. Entertainment Polska.
“I believe that the movie ‘How to Get Rid of Cellulite’ – our co-production with Warner Bros. – has the same big comedy potential as ‘Lejdis’ had. I love to make movies about women and for women because it’s a really fantastic subject and always a very appreciative audience. The characters in ‘How to Get Rid of Cellulite’ are women who are not afraid of new, difficult challenges and are ready to struggle with men, and at the same time have plenty of fun. These women are full of unrestrained fantasy, endearing charm, very intelligent and clever so it’s difficult not to fall in love with them,” said Andrzej Saramonowicz. ###
