Alex Ogilvie Named Vice President, Business Development, Europe, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution
(December 8, 2003 - Burbank, CA) - Alex Ogilvie has been named Vice President, Business Development, Europe, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution (WBITD), it was announced today by Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television.
Ogilvie will focus on all new business opportunities for Warner Bros. International Television Distribution as well as evaluating and maximizing WBITD’s pay television deals and the development of video-on-demand and other new transactional television models across Europe. In addition, he will work with all of WBITD’s European sales executives on various special projects. Based in London, he will report to Simon Kenny, Senior Vice President, Sales & Business Development and Managing Director Europe, WBITD.
“Alex brings to Warner Bros. International Television a great expertise in business and finance as well as a keen understanding of channel development, output deals and emerging technologies,” said Kenny. “We are pleased that he will be joining our team and are certain that he will become an integral member of our company.”
Ogilvie was previously with MTV Europe, where, during the past 10 years, he has served as Vice President, Financial Planning; Vice President, Finance and Operations and, most recently, Commercial Director , MTV Northern Europe, where he launched several localized MTV channels, including MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon, throughout Europe as well as negotiated numerous joint ventures. Prior to that, Ogilvie worked for five years as Finance Director for Paramount Pictures in Europe. He began his career at Arthur Andersen, where, for three years, he served as a senior auditor.
