Ana de Castro Promoted to Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Warner Bros. Entertainment
(February 11, 2014 – Burbank, CA) – Ana de Castro has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Warner Bros. Entertainment, it was announced today by John Rogovin, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Warner Bros. Entertainment, to whom she will directly report.
In her new position, de Castro, who has been with Warner Bros. 18 years, will play a key role in helping guide the legal function at the Studio, focusing on franchise properties and commercial opportunities around the world. She will also work closely with Rogovin and Warner Bros.’ senior legal team on strategic initiatives to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Studio-wide Legal Group.
“Ana has a deep knowledge of the Studio, extensive commercial experience, a strong background in intellectual property and licensing, excellent management skills and a first-rate legal mind,” said Rogovin. “She has provided invaluable legal and strategic counsel throughout her tenure, and we’re glad to have her joining our corporate team where we can further draw on her expertise.”
De Castro most recently served as Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, a post to which she was promoted in 2007. Prior to that, she served as Vice President, Legal Affairs, WBCP, and Senior Attorney, having joined the company as an Attorney in 1996.
Before joining WBCP, de Castro served as Assistant General Counsel-Marketing at Unilever United States, Inc. She began her career as a corporate attorney at Morrison & Foerster.
De Castro holds a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in economics from The University of Michigan.
