Andy Lewis Promoted To Executive Vice President & General Manager, Warner Bros. Animation
(September 21, 2004 – Sherman Oaks, CA) – Andy Lewis has been promoted to Executive Vice President & General Manager, Warner Bros. Animation, it was announced today by Sander Schwartz, President, Warner Bros. Animation.
Lewis, who had served as Senior Vice President & General Manager since joining Warner Bros. Animation in 1997, will continue to oversee general management of the animation studio, including the day-to-day studio operations, business affairs, finance and administrative matters, as well as his involvement in business planning. He continues to report directly to Schwartz.
“Andy’s expert management skills and business acumen have been invaluable to our company and have proven integral to our many successful projects,” said Schwartz. “During the past few years, with Andy’s strong leadership, we have expanded Warner Bros. Animation’s business to include nine current series, a full slate of made-for-video releases and opened a state-of-the-art animation studio in Sherman Oaks. I am confident that Andy’s continued strategic leadership will help us revitalize our classic franchises, as well as launch original characters in many of Warner Bros. and Time Warner’s businesses.”
Prior to joining Warner Bros. Animation, Lewis served as Vice President, Finance and Planning at Buena Vista Television, where he was responsible for the oversight of all business planning and analysis, production finance, physical distribution, administration and operations related to Disney’s domestic television distribution. Before that, Lewis had served as Executive Director, Finance at Buena Vista since 1989. He previously spent two years in corporate finance at Columbia Pictures Television after having begun his career at Viacom.
Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College in Ohio and an MBA from University of Chicago.
