Australia’s XYZ Networks Renews Deal With Warner Bros. International Television Distribution
(April 11, 2005 - Sydney, Australia) - Leading subscription television channel and program production company, XYZ Networks has renewed its multi-year exclusive basic cable deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution it was announced today by Bruce Mann, CEO of XYZ Networks, and Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.
The deal with WBITD calls for the exclusive basic cable subscription television rights for XYZ’s general entertainment channel, Arena TV.
“We are extremely pleased to have finalised this key strategic alignment with Warner Bros. for Arena TV. Warner Bros. is the most prolific US studio and this strategic alignment guarantees the strong foundation of quality dramas and sitcoms key to Arena’s new programming line-up. This line-up will feature big name properties such as 'Friends,' 'Without A Trace,' 'Nip/Tuck,' 'Six Feet Under,' 'Third Watch,' 'ER' and 'The O.C.,'” said Bruce Mann.
“The new schedule will also include Warner Bros. reality shows 'Amish in the City' and 'High School Reunion' which Arena TV will premiere exclusively in Australia.”
Warner Bros. International Television Distribution is one of the world's largest distributors of television, licensing some 43,000 hours of programming, dubbed or subtitled in more than 40 languages, to more than 175 countries. WBITD handles distribution to all international television media, including broadcast, pay cable, basic cable, satellite, pay-per-view, video-on-demand and digital platforms.
XYZ Networks Australia owns and operates eight leading brands including Arena TV, The LifeStyle Channel, LifeStyle FOOD, Channel [V], Club [V], MAX, Country Music Channel and The Weather Channel. XYZnetworks also distributes global giant Discovery Channel and jointly owns kids powerhouse Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. Collectively the channels reach more than 4 million* television viewers.
