Bob Mohler Promoted To Senior Vice President, Digital Media, At Telepictures
(July 12, 2010 – Burbank, CA) – Bob Mohler has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Digital Media, Telepictures, it was announced today by Hilary Estey McLoughlin, President, Telepictures Productions.
In his new position, Mohler will continue to oversee the digital operation for Telepictures and the execution of its digital initiatives. Mohler will work closely with show producers to develop and evolve online formats and create new revenue streams for Telepictures television properties. He will also maintain his integral role in mapping out strategies for new initiatives and partnerships working with Telepictures digital general managers and digital distribution team. Mohler will remain responsible for keeping Telepictures on the cutting edge of technology, evaluating and implementing the use of current and developing technologies and website technical strategies with the business development department and advertising sales groups.
Most recently, Mohler spearheaded the successful launch of the iPhone applications for "TMZ," "Extra" and "Ellen" and Telepictures mobile sites including "TMZ," which has been the #1 mobile celebrity news site for the last 16 months consecutively. In addition, Mohler has overseen iPad enhancements for all of Telepictures properties, as well as the development of the new "TMZ" interactive application for Verizon Fios.
“Bob has done an extraordinary job in his ten years at Telepictures overseeing our digital operation. He has been instrumental in building our digital business, our show and original websites and was a key member of the team that launched 'TMZ.' He will continue to focus on spearheading multiplatform initiatives that build audiences and generate revenue for all of our content," said Estey McLoughlin.
Mohler began his career at Telepictures in 2000 as a Web Producer for “Extra’s” website, ExtraTV.com. In 2003, he was named Director of New Media and was responsible for producing television websites for “Extra,” “ElimiDATE,” “Street Smarts,” “Larry Elder,” “Judge Mathis,” “The Bachelor: The Morning After,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “The Tyra Show.” In 2005, he was promoted to Executive Director of New Media while continuing to serve as Supervising Producer and Director of Operations for TMZ.com, where he was responsible for the site launch and daily technical operations. Mohler was also heavily involved in the launch of Momlogic.com, the Warner Bros. partnership with Time Inc. on Essence.com, and Lopeztonight.com with TBS.
Prior to joining Telepictures, Mohler was a Professor of Acting at DePaul University and served as Managing Director and Artistic Director of the Eclipse Theater Company in Chicago. Upon moving to Los Angeles in 1998, Mohler began his digital career when he served as Director of Web Promotion at Casnet.com until 2000.
