Carla Kaufman Upped To Executive Producer Of “Street Smarts” In Its Fourth Season
(July 7, 2003 - Burbank, CA) - Emmy Award winning writer and producer Carla Kaufman has been named Executive Producer on “Street Smarts.” Kaufman came to “Street Smarts” as supervising producer at its inception, and was upped to Co-Executive Producer for the show’s second season. She has shepherded the show through many positive changes over the last three years.
“Carla brings a keen understanding of both comedy and reality programming to the comedy game show, as she has spent her career writing and producing for both genres,” Hilary Estey McLoughlin, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Telepictures Productions says. “We look forward to Carla helming the show in its fourth season.”
Prior to “Street Smarts,” Kaufman was a writer on “Win Ben Stein’s Money,” where she earned an Emmy Award in 1998. Before that she was a writer and producer for such shows as “A Current Affair,” “The Newlywed Game” and “The Dating Game.” While getting her education at New York University, Kaufman won a writing award at NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts.
In addition to writing and producing for television, Kaufman counts improv and stand-up comedy as two of her many talents. # # #
