Castle Rock Entertainment’s Critically Acclaimed “Best In Show” Receives Golden Globe Award Nomination For Best Motion Picture Comedy
(December 21, 2000 – Beverly Hills, CA) – “Best in Show” the canine comedy directed by Christopher Guest and written by Guest and Eugene Levy, has been nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The nomination was announced this morning by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
“Best in Show,” which has received enthusiastic critical accolades as well as widespread word-of-mouth support since its opening on September 27, focuses on several eccentric dog owners gearing up for the canine showdown of their lives – the prestigious Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show. Time magazine and Rolling Stone magazine have both named “Best In Show” one of their Top 10 films of the year. The Boston Society of Film Critics named Fred Willard Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “Best In Show.”
“Best in Show” stars Jennifer Coolidge, Christopher Guest, John Michael Higgins, Michael Hitchcock, Eugene Levy, Jane Lynch, Michael McKean, Catherine O’Hara, Parker Posey and Fred Willard. The Castle Rock Entertainment production is directed by Christopher Guest and written by Christopher Guest and Eugene Levy. The film is produced by Karen Murphy. Gordon Mark is the executive producer; Roberto Schaefer, the director of photography; and Joseph T. Garrity, the production designer. Robert Leighton is the editor.
