(August 31, 2006 -- Burbank, CA) - Christopher Law, who currently serves as Managing Director, UK, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, has been promoted to the newly created post of Senior Vice President and Managing Director, UK Television and Digital Distribution, it was announced today by Josh Berger, Executive Vice President & Managing Director Warner Bros. Entertainment UK, Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television, and Simon Kenny, President, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. In his new role, Law will continue to handle the company’s linear television sales efforts in addition to spearheading the company’s initiatives in the digital distribution space across all platforms and devices. He will report locally to Berger on all aspects of the U.K. business. As his job relates to digital distribution issues, he will report to Kenny and as his job relates to linear television sales he will report to Robert Blair, the newly named Senior Vice President, Northern Europe (see separate release). “Chris’ new role fundamentally reflects the way our business is changing in the digital world,” said Berger. “By giving Chris responsibility for our linear TV business and the emerging digital business, it will enable us to respond much more effectively to consumers and new and existing customers in the UK and Ireland. Chris is a smart and strategic executive, and I’m delighted he has stepped into this important new position.” “Chris has done an excellent job in licensing our programming to all television outlets in the UK,” said Schlesinger. “I am pleased he will continue to handle this business in addition to his new responsibilities.” “I had extensive experience working with Chris in London and I am confident he will be as successful in the emerging digital distribution sector, as he has already become in the traditional UK Television sector,” added Kenny. Law joined the Company as Managing Director in 2000. Prior to that, he spent five years with Columbia TriStar International Television, where he served as Vice President, Sales, Europe after serving as Director, Sales, Southern Europe. Before that, Law was a partner in a Paris-based design and distribution company called ZO Design/YO Works, one of the top three broadcast design companies in France, creating broadcast identities for such clients as France Television, Canale 5, Videomusic, La Cinq and TV Nova. Prior to that, he served for two years as Manager, Southern Europe, Carat Broadcast and for three years as Company Manager and Head of Development & Production for the UK-based independent production company Marvellous TV. Law speaks English, French, Spanish and Italian fluently.
