Eric Roberts To Star In “Dark Realm” A One-Hour Suspense Drama, From Warner Bros. International Television
(February 24, 2000 – Burbank, CA) – Eric Roberts is set to star in “Dark Realm,” a one-hour suspense drama from Warner Bros. International Television, Dune, Europe Audiovisuel and UFA International, currently in production on the Isle of Man in the British Isles.
In the vein of television’s classic horror anthology series, “Dark Realm” will feature a new cast of characters in new situations and locations every week, taking a suspenseful, and sometimes distorted, look at life when ordinary “twenty-somethings” are plunged into extraordinarily unsettling situations. With stories ranging from superstitions to the supernatural and paranormal, “Dark Realm” will showcase a wide variety of talent, including well-known American and European actors from movies, television and the stage, as well as up-and-coming players.
Roberts, who has appeared in more than 25 feature films and been nominated for an Academy Award, will star as “The Host,” opening and closing each episode with dramatic monologues and observations particular to that week’s story. Though he appears in every episode, “The Host,” his past and his intentions remain a mystery.
“Dark Realm,” is a co-production from Frightmares Productions Limited and Dune S.A. in association with Warner Bros. Productions Limited, Warner Bros. International Television Production, UFA International Film & TV Production, Europe Audiovisuel, The Isle of Man Film Commission and A Nice Picture Company Pty. Ltd. and is distributed by Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.
Warner Bros. International Television Production was formed in 1995 as a strategic initiative to create globally appealing programming in association with European production companies and networks.
