(September 26, 2000 – Burbank, CA) – Three executive promotions in the Business Affairs and Legal departments at Warner Bros. Pictures were announced today by Steve Spira, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Business Affairs. Patti Connolly, former Senior Vice President, Business Affairs, has assumed the post of Executive Vice President, Business Affairs; Dan Furie has moved up from Vice President, Business Affairs, to Senior Vice President, Business Affairs; and Pamela Kirsh, former Vice President and General Counsel, has moved into the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Legal. "Patti, Dan and Pam are outstanding and talented executives who are extremely valuable members of the Warner Bros. team," stated Spira. "Their judgment and expertise regarding the ever-increasing complexities of filmmaking issues, combined with the strong relationships they have developed with production entities and the entertainment community in general, continue to drive this company's business and legal operations forward. I am enormously proud to recognize their contributions." In her new position, Connolly will oversee all day-to-day business and legal aspects of film acquisition, production and distribution worldwide for the studio with the support of both Kirsh and Furie, who will report directly to her. Furie's primary responsibility will be the negotiation of deals with talent and producers, and the acquisition of rights for literary material. Kirsh's primary responsibility will involve supervision of all legal aspects attendant to the development and production of films worldwide. Connolly came to Warner Bros. Pictures in 1986 as a director of Business Affairs. She was promoted to Vice President in 1989 and Senior Vice President, Business Affairs, in 1997. Previously, she had served as Assistant General Counsel for Tri-Star Pictures and, prior to that, as Senior Counsel and Assistant General Counsel for Columbia Pictures. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate from UCLA, Connolly received her law degree from Hastings Law School. Furie joined Warner Bros. Pictures in 1990 as Vice President, Theatrical Business Affairs, after beginning his entertainment industry career in 1984 as an attorney, then Senior Attorney, and finally Director of Theatrical Business Affairs for Paramount Pictures. Kirsh joined Warner Bros. Pictures in 1982. She became an attorney for the legal department in 1990 and was named Associate General Counsel in 1995. She was promoted to Vice President and Associate General Counsel in 1997 and, two years later, to Vice President, General Counsel. Kirsh received her degree from Loyola Law School.
