Film Fans Invited To Analyze Themselves Online At Website For New Comedy “Analyze That”
(November 15, 2002 – Burbank, CA) - Existential angst getting you down? Are you anxious? Aimless? Suffering from some nameless dread? Well, Fuggedaboudit. The doctor is in, and he’s good…. he is good. The “Analyze That” Website is currently online, featuring irreverent psychological evaluations and inside information for film fans awaiting the December 6th release of the new comedy from Warner Bros. Pictures.
Interactive highlights include one-liner diagnoses recorded exclusively for the site by the film’s star and executive producer Billy Crystal, as well as an artificial Dr. Sobel “bot” that users can talk to via AOL Instant Messenger (add “DrBenSobel” to your AIM buddy list to see him online or click on Dr. Sobel’s desktop mouse from inside the “Analyze That” Website).
Visitors to the site (at www.analyzethatmovie.com or via AOL Keyword: Analyze That) can indulge their inner shrink or discover their inner gangster through a series of cognitive tests like the ones that psychiatrist Ben Sobel (BILLY CRYSTAL) administers to notoriously troubled mob boss Paul Vitti (ROBERT DE NIRO) in this sequel to the 1999 worldwide hit “Analyze This.”
By ransacking his cluttered desk, visitors to Dr. Sobel’s virtual office will also uncover the doctor’s detailed case history of his #1 patient, Paulie V., as well as a “Wiseguy’s Map of New York,” the “Goombah’s Hierarchy of Needs” and a chart comparing the phrenology of a “Made Man’s Brain” to the brain of the average guy.
Cyber-patients can take a quiz to find out if they are “A Chump or a Wiseguy” or take a shot at self-diagnosis with “Analyze TAT” (Thematic Apperception Test, or), or by choosing the best description of what might be going on in select scenes from the new movie. Those participating in a free association session by responding to a series of provocative one-word prompts will hear Dr. Sobel himself offer an opinion on how sick they really are.
Anyone entering the legitimate job market for the first time, as Paul Vitti attempts in “Analyze That,” can consult the “Go Legit / Standardized Career Testing” feature for insightful employment suggestions. Based on 16 questions about personal preferences, the test reveals whether players are best suited to be cops, naval officers, cowboys or construction workers. Meanwhile those who opt to “See Through the Eyes of Paul Vitti,” will get a look at how the infamous mobster attacked the Rorschach Test, as a series of standard ink blot images morph into alarming pictures that only he might imagine.
The site also provides video clips and photos, plus production information, wallpaper selections featuring poster art and images from the film, numerous webcards and unique buddy icons.
Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in Association with Village Roadshow Pictures and NPV Entertainment, a Baltimore Spring Creek Pictures, Face / Tribeca Production of a Harold Ramis Film: Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal, Lisa Kudrow and Joe Viterelli star in “Analyze That,” also starring Cathy Moriarty-Gentile.
