Juli Goodwin Named Vice President, Publicity, Warner Bros. Pictures
(September 5, 2000 – Burbank, CA) – Juli Goodwin has been named vice president, publicity, for Warner Bros. Pictures, it was announced today by Dawn Taubin, executive vice president for Warner Bros. Pictures’ domestic theatrical marketing. She joins Warner Bros. Pictures from her post as head of publicity and promotion at Fine Line Features.
In her newly created position, Goodwin will supervise the publicity creative staff; manage the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award campaigns; coordinate the publicity campaigns of all Castle Rock Entertainment releases, and act as liaison with non-film-specific press. Beginning September 11, she will be based at the studio’s Burbank headquarters and report directly to Dawn Taubin.
“Juli is an extraordinarily capable executive with outstanding press relationships and a solid management background,” Taubin said. “Additionally, she has spearheaded some of the most impressive and resourceful awards campaigns in recent memory. She is the ideal candidate to take on the varied responsibilities of this position, and we are lucky to have her.”
Goodwin joined Fine Line Features in January of 1996, establishing the company’s West Coast publicity office. In 1998 she was promoted to the position of vice president, publicity and promotions, and took over the day-to-day running of the publicity department along with corporate communications, awards campaigns, festivals and promotions. Among the projects she has championed during her tenure at Fine Line are the award-winning “Shine,” Atom Egoyan’s “The Sweet Hereafter” and Woody Allen’s “Deconstructing Harry."
Prior to joining Fine Line, Goodwin served as director of publicity at Savoy Pictures. She began her publicity career at Clein + White. # # #
