Jun S. Oh Promoted To Senior VP And Head Of Business And Legal Affairs Warner Independent Pictures
(February 6, 2008 – Burbank, CA) – Jun S. Oh has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Head of Business and Legal Affairs at Warner Independent Pictures. Oh was formerly Vice President and Head of Business and Legal Affairs. The announcement was made today by Polly Cohen, President of Warner Independent Pictures and is effective immediately.
Oh has been an integral part in the negotiations for Alan Ball’s “Towelhead” and Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire” as well as steering the business and legal for “The 11th Hour,” “Darfur Now” and “In The Valley Of Elah.”
Oh continues to report to Cohen, and is involved with handling the business and legal affairs for Warner Independent and its development and production activities, among other duties. Oh most recently was Senior Vice President and Head of Business and Legal Affairs for Beacon Pictures.
“Jun has been wonderful as VP and Head of Business Affairs for our team and it’s great to be able to reward all his hard work. His savvy and intelligence are assets that make him irreplaceable,” said Cohen.
Prior to Oh’s time at Beacon Pictures where he was responsible for negotiating, drafting and closing all transactions that dealt with development, production and distribution of theatrical motion pictures and domestic and foreign distribution agreements along with various other responsibilities. He began his entertainment career in the Business and Legal Affairs group at The Walt Disney Company where he worked since 2002. Oh has also previously worked at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and with the Honorable Harry Pregerson, U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit.
Oh is a graduate of UCLA School of Law and Cornell University.
