Karen Cease And Brett A. Paul To Co-Head Business Affairs Department At Warner Bros. Television
(June 20, 2001 – Burbank, CA) – Karen Cease and Brett A. Paul have been promoted to co-heads of Business Affairs, Warner Bros. Television, it was announced today by Craig Hunegs, Executive Vice President, Warner Bros. Television.
Karen and Brett will jointly oversee the business affairs department, replacing Roni Mueller who is leaving due to a personal family matter. The new department heads will divide responsibilities, with Brett primarily overseeing business affairs-related activities for development and Karen primarily overseeing business dealings for current programming at the studio. They will jointly handle administrative matters.
“Karen and Brett are terrific negotiators with great relationships in the community,” said Hunegs. “Their combined talents, extensive experience and leadership abilities make them an outstanding team.”
Regarding the departure of Senior Vice President, Roni Mueller, Hunegs stated “I am personally and professionally saddened by Roni’s decision to leave. She is one of the finest executives in our business.”
Cease who has been a Senior Vice President since 1997, joined the company in 1987. During her tenure she played an integral part in the company’s success negotiating talent, development and production agreements and through her involvement with such high profile series as “ER,” “The West Wing,” “The Drew Carey Show,” and “Third Watch.”
Paul, who moves up to Senior Vice President, joined the company in 1995 as Vice President. He has been a key negotiator for many of the studio’s major overall deals as well as negotiation and administration of talent, development and production agreements for pilots and series. He was the point person for “The Fugitive,” “The Jamie Foxx Show,” “Jack & Jill” and “Bull.” # # #
