Kevin E. Fortson Named Senior Vice President, Operations, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities
(April 19, 2004 - Burbank, CA) - Kevin E. Fortson has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities and will work alongside Bob Pincus, the current Senior Vice President, Operations, WBSF, for the next year, at which point Pincus will be promoted to Senior Vice President, Special Projects, WBSF. The announcement was made today by Jon Gilbert, President, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities (WBSF).
Fortson, who has been a senior production executive for Telepictures Productions since joining the Company in 1993, and most recently served as Senior Vice President, Production, will now be charged with overseeing the operational activities for all in-house and independent television and feature film production on Warner Bros. Studios’ 110-acre lot and adjacent 32-acre Ranch facility. This will include scheduling for all 34 soundstages and numerous exterior sets (including New York Street, Ashley Boulevard, Midwest Street, Downtown Plaza, French Street and The Jungle) as well as audience coordination, stage and back lot maintenance and special projects.
Pincus, a 31-year veteran of Warner Bros. Studios, will spend the next year transitioning Fortson into his new role and will then assume the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Special Projects.
“Bob has been an incredible asset to our Company for more than three decades,” said Gilbert. “We couldn’t be more pleased that he will spend the next production year alongside Kevin, who we’ve had the pleasure of working with at our sister company Telepictures to ensure the continuation of top-rate operations of our first-class production facilities that Bob has established. And, we’re equally thrilled that Bob will continue to be a part of our family in a special role that allows us to tap into his expertise and know-how.”
Pincus got his start at the Studio working in Studio Facilities and has since worked in various other capacities, including Business Affairs, Production and Operations. Prior to joining Warner Bros. Studios, Pincus served as the Director of Budget and Cost Control for Screen Gems and Metromedia Producer’s Corporation and as the Production Executive for “The Johnny Cash Show.” Pincus is an honorary member of the board of directors for the Ronald McDonald House of Los Angeles and oversees the Susan Lynn Pincus Endowment Fund. An alumnus of the University of California at Los Angeles, Pincus earned both a bachelor of arts in film and television and a master of fine arts degree.
During his 11 years at Telepictures Productions, Fortson has been responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production staffs for one of the industry’s most prolific producers of network, first-run syndicated and cable television series, including “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “The Bachelor,” and “Extra” to name a few.
Prior to joining Telepictures Productions, Fortson was with Investigative News Group for five years, lastly serving as Vice President/Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer and executive in charge of production, overseeing “Geraldo” and “The Geraldo Rivera Specials.” He left Investigative News Group in May 1992 for a brief stint as Vice President, Development & Production at Genesis Entertainment, overseeing “The Whoopi Goldberg Show” among other programs. Prior to that, he held positions at Metromedia, Fox and Group W, where he supervised various productions and served for two years as Executive In Charge of Production on “Hour Magazine.”
