Kids’ WB! And Nelvana Present A Special Message From “Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team”
(October 15, 2001 – Burbank, CA) — Kids’ WB! and Nelvana team up to present a special message for all would-be rescue heroes at home from the extreme emergency “Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team,” beginning Monday, October 15. The network will the national on-air Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign during the Monday-Friday weekday (3:00-5:00 p.m.) and Saturday morning (8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET) line-ups.
The PSA will feature Rescue Heroes captain and firefighter, Billy Blazes speaking directly to kids at home about the real heroes living with their communities. Every day, men and women go on the same kinds of dangerous, life-saving rescue missions that the characters of “Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team” are assigned. “The next time you see a real firefighter or police officer in your hometown,” Billy Blazes says, “go up to them and tell them thanks for being your Rescue Hero!”
“Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team” airs Wednesdays, 3:00 p.m. and follows the elite group of trained specialists around the world on their nail-biting adventures as they bring immediate help to those in need. Using their brains, skills and teamwork – plus awesome, cutting-edge gadgetry, the Rescue Heroes are always prepared to save kids and adults in life-threatening situations anywhere on the globe. Many stories from the series are drawn from real-life news headlines, and each episode always will include safety tips and positive life lessons.
