Lionel Wigram Named Senior Vice President, Production, At Warner Bros. Pictures
(November 28, 2000 – Burbank, CA) - Lionel Wigram was named Senior Vice President, Production, Warner Bros. Pictures, it was announced today by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, President, Worldwide Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.
Wigram, who joined the company as a Vice President in February of 1996, is currently overseeing the Studio’s feature film adaptation of the beloved “Harry Potter” book series. Among the projects Wigram is also overseeing are “Charlotte Gray,” starring Cate Blanchett and Billy Crudup, for which he helped forge a partnership with FilmFour and “Collateral Damage,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wigram’s previous movies at the Studio include “Three Kings” and “The Big Tease.”
“Lionel represents the ideal blend of taste and production savvy,” di Bonaventura said. “His acumen for quality projects of large and small scale alike has been a tremendous asset to this company as we continue to diversify our slate. We are delighted to recognize his great contribution to the Studio with this promotion.”
Wigram joined the company after serving as Executive Vice President at The Forge, and as President of Alive Films. He also worked as a producer on a number of independent movies.
He will continue to be based at the Studio’s Burbank headquarters, reporting directly to Mr. di Bonaventura. # # #
