Mandy Moore’s Upcoming Romantic Comedy, “Chasing Liberty,” Set For Nationwide Release January 9, 2004
(October 23, 2003 – Burbank, CA) – Mandy Moore will star as the teenage daughter of a U.S. President with her own ideas about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in “Chasing Liberty,” a young adult romantic comedy from Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment, opening nationwide on January 9, 2004.
While on a diplomatic trip to Europe with her parents, First Daughter Anna Foster (MANDY MOORE) exacts a promise from her father which allows her a single night of freedom, unescorted by the regular battalion of Secret Service agents that safeguard her from danger. But when over-protective dad has a change of heart, Anna decides to take matters into her own hands. In a wild escape, incognito Anna runs into mysterious stranger Ben Calder (MATTHEW GOODE), who reluctantly aids her European getaway.
Directed by Andy Cadiff, “Chasing Liberty” also stars Jeremy Piven and Annabella Sciorra as the oil-and-water team of Secret Service agents struggling to keep up with Anna’s whirlwind adventure; Mark Harmon as President Foster, balancing the challenges of fatherhood with his other full-time job; and Caroline Goodall as the First Lady, who wisely cautions that if they try too hard to protect their daughter they might lose her for good.
“Chasing Liberty” is produced by Broderick Johnson, Andrew A. Kosove and David Parfitt, with executive producer Wayne Rice; written by Derek Guiley & David Schneiderman and Randi Mayem Singer and Kari Lizer. The creative behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Ashley Rowe, production designer Martin Childs and editor Jon Gregory. Music is by Christian Henson. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
