Marc Gareton Promoted To Warner Bros. Digital Distribution As Senior Vice President, International – Europe
(February 12, 2007 - Burbank, CA) — Marc Gareton has been promoted to the newly created role of Senior Vice President, International – Europe, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution it was announced today by Simon Kenny, President, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, to whom Marc will directly report.
In this newly created post, London-based Gareton will oversee digital strategy, partnerships in digital services and emerging business activity in Europe.
“Marc’s global experience makes him the perfect choice to head up our digital distribution initiative in Europe,” Kenny said. “We’re pleased to have him as an integral member of our team.”
Prior to this promotion, Gareton served as Senior Vice President, Business Decision Support for Warner Bros. Home Video.
“I look forward to working with all Warner Bros. divisions in Europe so we can further develop new business models and help migrate Home Video Entertainment markets from ‘packaged goods only’ to a mix of ‘packaged digital,’” Gareton said. “Ultimately, this will allow Warner Bros. to offer consumers more choices in terms of how they enjoy our films and TV programs.”
Gareton previously led WHV’s Global Business Transformation project, orchestrating a massive change initiative affecting the business model, structure and processes of the division. He joined WHV in 1995 in a senior marketing role in France before being promoted to WHV Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand and then to SVP Canada, Latin America and Australia. Prior to joining WHV, he held management positions with Group Moulinex-Krups and holds an MBA from Reims Management School in France.
