Mark DeVitre Named Vice President, Sales, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution
(January 16, 2004 - Burbank, CA) - Mark DeVitre has been named Vice President, Sales, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution it was announced today by Eric Frankel, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution (WBDCD).
DeVitre will be responsible for the domestic licensing of feature films, television series, miniseries, TV movies, and specials to the pay television and basic cable networks.
“In our ever-evolving distribution marketplace, we need sales executives who can think outside of the box and envision new sales strategies,” said Frankel. “Mark’s varied background and legal and business expertise, combined with his keen understanding of cable network operations and programming make him an excellent addition to our team.”
DeVitre joins WBDCD from Fox Entertainment Group where, where he’s worked for the past five-and-a-half years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President/General Manager, Fox Movie Channel, where, during his tenure, subscriber numbers doubled to over 20 million. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Operations, FX Networks, focusing on its growth from 38 to more than 80 million subscribers as well as the network’s foray into original programming. Before joing the ranks of its management, DeVitre started with the Fox Cable Networks as Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, with responsibility for FX, Fox Movie Channel and The Health Network.
Prior to joining Fox, DeVitre had business and legal affairs positions at Warner Home Video, Philips Interactive Media, Multimedia Entertainment and Hanna-Barbera Productions.
DeVitre earned his bachelor’s degree from U.C.L.A. and his juris doctor from Southwestern University School of Law.
