Marty Sokoler Named Vice President, Western Sales, Telepictures Distribution
(October 2, 2000 – Burbank, CA) - Marty Sokoler has been named Vice President, Western Sales, Telepictures Distribution, it was announced today by Dan Greenblatt, Executive Vice President, Telepictures Distribution.
In his new post, Sokoler will be responsible for managing sales of all Telepictures Distribution’s first-run and off-network product and movie packages in the western U.S. Based in Burbank, he will report to Bill Marcus, Senior Vice President/General Sales Manager, Telepictures Distribution. Telepictures Distribution’s first-run slate includes the popular relationship series “Change of Heart,” the sophomore talk show “Queen Latifah” and the all-new game show “Street Smarts,” for fall 2000.
“With his outstanding sales skills and substantial station experience, Marty will play a key role on the Telepictures sales team,” said Greenblatt. “We are extremely fortunate to have him on board.”
Sokoler joins Telepictures after a one-year stint as President of his own media consulting firm, Sokoler Communications, where he handled clients such as Venture Technologies Group, College Broadcast and Miller Family Broadcasting.
Previously, Sokoler served as Senior Vice President, Broadcast Group for Lambert Television from 1997-1999. He was Vice President & General Manager of KUPN-TV in Las Vegas for three-and-a-half years and General Sales Manager for seven years at KITN-TV Minneapolis (which is now WFTC-TV). Before that, he was General Sales Manager for Little Rock’s KRLR-TV for two and a half years. Sokoler began his career in television in Minneapolis as an account executive at WTCN-TV.
Sokoler holds a bachelor's degree in speech communications from State University New York at New Paltz. # # #
