(February 16, 2010 – London) – Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK has signed a deal with Miss Selfridge that will see the leading high street fashion retailer launch a collection inspired by Warner Bros. Television’s hit U.S. series “Gossip Girl.” Miss Selfridge has created a collection of eight dresses based on the fashion styles of the four female lead characters – Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Jenny Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams – inspired by the designs of Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman. Young fashionistas will have the opportunity to choose from a stunning leopard print boho maxi dress, a ruffle front shift dress with a floral skirt, a black body con bandage dress or a nude and black lace tutu-style dress to create the look of their favourite character. Whether they’re a party girl like Serena, a socialite like Blair, a rocker like Jenny or prefer the laid back vintage style of Vanessa, there will be a dress to suit. The range will be available at all Miss Selfridge stores nationwide and online at missselfridge.com from end April 2010, prices start at £39. The launch will be supported with an integrated marketing campaign that will include extensive in-store support and a comprehensive national public relations campaign. Additionally, “Gossip Girl” costume designer Daman will host a video series discussing the characters’ style, documenting his inspiration for their wardrobe and showing how fans can create their own “Gossip Girl”–inspired look using the Miss Selfridge collection. The series will run on in-store video at Miss Selfridge shops and online at both misselfridge.com and www.itv.com. Further brand and product awareness will be driven by ITV2’s broadcast of “Gossip Girl,” which resumes on 10th March 2010. Brand-new episodes will be broadcast every Wednesday at 9 pm. “We’re incredibly excited to be working with Warner Bros. Consumer Products on the launch of the UK’s first official ‘Gossip Girl’ fashion collection. The dresses we’ve created are true to the individual style of each of the key female characters. We know our customers love ‘Gossip Girl’ as much as they love fashion; this collaboration is perfect for Miss Selfridge,” said Yasmin Yusuf, Creative Director, Miss Selfridge. Paul Bufton, General Manager, Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK commented, “Fashion is intrinsic to ‘Gossip Girl’ and a key ingredient in the continued popularity of the series. Miss Selfridge has created a collection that is true to the ideals of the show and one that young women will aspire to own. We’re certain it will be a commercial success and the beginning of a long-term relationship with the retailer.” In its three seasons, “Gossip Girl” has won a legion of devoted and fashion-forward fans. This drama's not only devilish — it's stylish. The series is told through the eyes of an all-knowing blogger — Gossip Girl — who, via constant, avidly read text messages, is determined to uncover and fuel every scandal possible on Manhattan's Upper East Side, where gossip rules, and affluent young people find themselves with the money, access and appetite to explore all the temptations New York City has to offer. Keeping track of the shifting friendships, jealousies and turmoil in this wealthy and complex world isn't easy; that's why there's Gossip Girl. “Gossip Girl” stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick, Jessica Szohr with Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle. Based upon the best-selling series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, the series was developed by Josh Schwartz (“Chuck,” “The O.C.”) & Stephanie Savage (“The O.C.”), who serve as executive producers along with Leslie Morgenstein (“The Vampire Diaries”), Bob Levy (“The Vampire Diaries”) and John Stephens (“The O.C.,” “Gilmore Girls”). “Gossip Girl” is produced by College Hill Pictures, Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios. “Gossip Girl” Season 3 resumes on ITV2 from 10th March and new episodes from the Warner Bros. TV series will be broadcast every Wednesday at 9pm. Episodes will also be available to download digitally at iTunes and Blink box from 11th March and subsequently the day after each broadcast. “Gossip Girl” seasons 1 and 2 are available on DVD from Warner Home Video.
