Multiple Award-Winning Casting Veteran Mary V. Buck Joins Warner Bros. Television
(June 7, 2002 – Burbank, CA) - Award-winning casting director Mary V. Buck joins Warner Bros. Television as Senior Vice President, Casting, it was announced today by Peter Roth, President, Warner Bros. Television, to whom she will report.
“Mary is one of the most gifted and respected casting executives in the business,” said Roth. “She has established excellent relationships in the television community and I am delighted that she has agreed to join our team.”
Buck has been a partner with Susan Edelman in Buck/Edelman Casting for over 20 years, working on 46 pilots, 59 mow’s and 9 miniseries. She has received 16 Artios Award nominations, winning five Artios Awards for excellence in casting on “The Wonder Years,” “Malcolm in the Middle” (pilot), “The Oblongs,” “My Life with Judy Garland” and “Other Mothers.” In addition, she has received two Emmy Awards nominations.
“Susan and I have ended our partnership on excellent terms. It was truly an amazing ride,” said Buck. “After all of these years as an independent, I am very excited to try out the ‘other side’ at Warner Bros. Television.”
Buck was President of the Casting Society of America from January 1999 through January 2002. Her most recent projects include “George Lopez” and “ Time Tunnel.”
Buck replaces Barbara Miller who recently retired from WBTV. # # #
