Natalie Chaidez Joins "The Flight Attendant" as Co-Showrunner/Executive Producer
- HBO Max announced today that Emmy®-nominated writer/producer Natalie Chaidez (“Queen of the South,” “Heroes”) has joined the creative team of the breakout hit series THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT for its second season.
- Chaidez will serve as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside executive producer/showrunner Steve Yockey, who developed the series.
- Greg Berlanti, series star Kaley Cuoco, and Sarah Schechter are also executive producers of THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT, which is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Cuoco’s Yes, Norman Productions, and Berlanti Productions. Yes, Norman’s Suzanne McCormack is co-executive producer.
- THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT’s first season was based on the novel of the same name by New York Times best-selling author Chris Bohjalian. The dark comedic thriller told the story about the ways an entire life can change in one night: a flight attendant wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with a dead man — and no idea what happened. The show’s first season was filmed in New York, Bangkok, and Rome, and all eight episodes are now streaming on HBO Max.
- The critically acclaimed, globe-trotting series delivered the strongest launch for an original series on HBO Max, including HBO Original Series titles and Max Originals. The first season took flight and ranked as HBO Max’s #1 series overall during its eight-episode run. All eight episodes are now streaming on HBO Max.
- Chaidez is a veteran creator, executive producer, and showrunner who works in both television and features. Prior to joining THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT, she served as executive producer and writer on USA Network’s critically acclaimed crime drama “Queen of the South.” She previously created and executive produced the SYFY drama series “Hunters.” Her additional TV writing and producing credits include “12 Monkeys,” “In Plain Sight,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” “Heroes,” “Judging Amy” and “New York Undercover,” among many others. She was nominated for an Emmy® Award and Writers Guild of America Award for her work on “Heroes.”
- A native of Los Angeles, Chaidez’s multi-genre projects focus on women’s empowerment and Latinx stories. In addition to her work behind the camera, she is a lifelong athlete – an avid soccer player and skater, most recently with the L.A. Derby Dolls.
- Chaidez recently signed with CAA for representation in all areas, and continues to be represented by Susan Solomon at Circle of Confusion.
