(September 14, 2016 – Burbank, CA) – The off-network rights to “Mom,” the most recent hit comedy from Chuck Lorre to be launched into syndication, have been sold in 92% of the country by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution for a Fall 2017 off-network debut on local broadcast stations, it was announced today by Ken Werner, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television.
In addition to a major launch with Tribune stations, WBDTD has also sold the series to stations from Nexstar, Media General, TEGNA, Meredith, Hearst, Raycom, CBS, Sunbeam Television Corp., Northwest, Weigel, Scripps, Marshall, Cowles, Bonten, News Press, Entravision, Bahakel, Quincy, and Mission amongst others. The series has been sold on a cash-plus-barter basis.
“Stations across the country moved quickly to secure the off-net rights to ‘Mom.’ In two short months we have reached 92% clearance. Stations responded with enthusiasm to Chuck Lorre’s track record of success, the lack of multi-cam sitcoms in the pipeline and the quality of this proven performer in first-run and repeats,” said Ken Werner, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
Anna Faris and Emmy Award-winner Allison Janney star in this hilarious and often heart wrenching series from executive producer Chuck Lorre (“The Big Bang Theory,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Mike & Molly”). Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky and Nick Bakay serve as executive producers for the series, which is from Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. “Mom” was created by Lorre & Gorodetsky & Gemma Baker, who serves as co-executive producer.
