(June 17, 2002 - Burbank, CA) - Peter Dobson has been promoted to Senior Vice President, International Film Relations, Warner Bros. International Theatres, it was announced today by Millard Ochs, President, Warner Bros. International Theatres (WBIT).
In his new post, Dobson will have full responsibility for overseeing all of Warner Bros. International Theatres’ film buying, booking and strategic planning for Europe and Asia. “I have always relied on Peter to find the most appropriate and effective approach to solving any film related concerns,” said Ochs. “His skills and insight are essential elements in the continuing success of our operation.”
Dobson has spent some 38 years in the film industry, having started in exhibition, then working in UK film studios in sound and picture cutting rooms for nine years. Concurrent to that, he ran his own independent cinema circuit in the UK. Since joining Warner Bros. International Theatres, Dobson headed the operations in UK and Germany as Managing Director prior to taking up his role in film buying.
Said Dobson, “I am delighted to have this opportunity to be allowed to grow in this role. I am looking forward to the ongoing challenges in our existing territories and especially to our entrance into China and the challenges that will bring. This should firmly maintain Warner Bros. International Theatres as the leader in worldwide exhibition.” # # #
