Peter Wright Named Senior Vice President And General Sales Manager, Digital Media Sales, For The Warner Bros. Television Group
(May 20, 2008 – New York and Burbank, CA) – Peter Wright has been named Senior Vice President & General Sales Manager, Digital Media Sales, for the Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG), it was announced today by Bruce Rosenblum, President, WBTVG. Wright will report to Michael Teicher, Executive Vice President, Media Sales, WBTVG.
In this newly created position, Wright will spearhead domestic advertiser sales efforts for both the broadband and wireless marketplaces, brokering Internet and mobile advertising sales deals related to all content from WBTVG’s television production arms, digital venture Studio 2.0, and recently announced broadband destinations TheWB.com and KidsWB.com. Additionally, he will supervise the activities of WBTVG’s digital media sales team, established in April 2007 – with executives in New York City and Burbank, Calif. – to provide advertisers with a one-stop, comprehensive, multiplatform approach for media planning and spending.
“As our digital initiatives expand and complement our core television business strengths, we will continue to work closely with our advertising partners to develop new, strategic multiplatform opportunities adjoining our first-rate content,” said Rosenblum. “We are thrilled and fortunate to have Peter join our team, bringing with him over a decade’s worth of expertise in the digital space. We are confident that Peter will quickly contribute to the growth of our digital ad sales footprint and will creatively identify engaging and interesting opportunities for our partners.”
The digital media sales team also collaborates closely with the television media sales team on strategic marketing initiatives across all platforms, and handles ad sales for the Studio’s web sites for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “The Tyra Banks Show” and “Extra,” as well as recently launched online destination MomLogic.com.
Wright comes to Warner Bros. with close to 20 years of media sales and management experience, and more than a decade in digital media sales. Immediately prior to his appointment, he was Vice President, Advertising Sales & Business Development at social networking destination Reunion.com, creating the organization’s advertiser sales program, doubling overall revenue per user for the site and diversifying overall company revenues.
Prior to joining Reunion.com, Wright served two years as Vice President, Search Advertising Sales, at InterActive Corp.’s Ask.com in Los Angeles, after previously spending four years managing the Central Region sales force and, later, the Western Region. As VP, he managed a team of more than 50 sales executives, client services representatives and support staff, generating more than $60 million in sales in his final year.
In his career, Wright has also held sales positions at Excite@Home (Regional Sales Manager, based in Chicago), Alladvantage.com (Director of Midwest Sales, based in Chicago), Yahoo! (Sales Manager in Los Angeles) and The Graffiti Group (Sales Director, in both Los Angeles and Chicago). He began his career in advertising sales at the Chicago Tribune, working as an Account Executive for four years.# # #
