Rapper-Turned-Actor Coolio Guest-Stars On The WB’s Hit Drama “Charmed”
(February 25, 2002 – Burbank, CA) — Tall, tanned and terrific rap artist Coolio, (hit single “Gangsta Paradise”) makes a guest appearance on “CHARMED” on Thursday, March 14 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET).
Coolio portrays a demon who crashes Phoebe’s (Alyssa Milano) wedding in the episode entitled “Marry-Go-Round.” Phoebe’s wedding to Cole (Julian McMahon) is ruined when The Source takes over the groom and sabotages the ceremony in order to orchestrate a demonic wedding, which will allow their foretold son to become heir to the underworld. The Source’s underhanded tactics include secretly sending a powerful demon (Coolio) to disrupt the wedding.
Rap Artist Coolio won a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Rap Solo Performance for the single “Gangsta Paradise” which was featured in the film “Dangerous Minds.” The record went to number one in the United States and the UK. As an actor, Coolio has appeared in the series “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch,” “Arli$$,” and “Malcolm and Eddie” and “The Nanny.” His talents as a voice-over actor were also heard in the series “Futurama.”
Aaron Spelling and E. Duke Vincent (“7th Heaven,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Melrose Place”) serve as executive producers on “CHARMED,” along with Brad Kern (“Hill Street Blues,” “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” “New York Undercover”). # # #
