That same night at 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET, “POPULAR” presents a riveting take on “It’s a Wonderful Life” with an episode titled “The Consequences of Falling.” Faced with spending Christmas in the hospital and his hopes dashed of finding a bone marrow match to combat his leukemia, Harrison’s (Christopher Gorham) vicious case of ennui leads to his wishing he were never born and contemplating suicide. He is taken on a journey through time and space by his recently deceased hospital roommate Clarence (guest star Mike Damus, “Brutally Normal”) to see how each of his friends would have turned out never having known him, and he discovers the powerful ripple effect of his life.
On Sunday, December 17, freshman comedy “NIKKI” (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET) finds the lighter side of the Yuletide. In the episode titled “The Crybaby Who Stole Christmas,” Dwight wrestles Santa Claus and faces a public relations nightmare after St. Nick suffers an injury.
On Monday, December 18, the “ROSWELL” episode titled “A Roswell Christmas Carol” finds Max (Jason Behr) struggling with using his healing powers to perform a Christmas miracle after witnessing a senseless tragedy. While Roswell is aglow with the holiday spirit, Max is haunted by the ghost of a man who sacrifices his own life to save his young daughter’s.
The WB’s holiday programming concludes on Thursday, December 21 with a memorable episode of “GILMORE GIRLS” titled “Forgiveness and Stuff” in which the family is rocked when the family patriarch, Richard (Edward Herrmann), collapses at their Christmas party. Lorelai (Lauren Graham), initially hurt and upset when she finds herself “dis-invited” to her parents’ annual holiday bash, rushes to the hospital where Richard’s close call forces everyone to confront their long-standing resentments and misunderstandings. # # #
