(January 29, 2003 – Burbank, CA) – Shari Black has been appointed to Vice President, Retail Business Development for Warner Bros. Consumer Products, it was announced today by Karen McTier, Executive Vice President, Domestic Licensing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Retail Business Development, Patrick Connor, Black will oversee the mass merchant retail accounts for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. She will manage the development and implementation of business and promotional plans for key retail accounts, including Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target Corp. In her role, Black will analyze current retail promotions, in-store activity and point-of-sale data to plan for future product endeavors. “Shari will be instrumental to the Retail Business Development team in managing our determined efforts on the mass merchant retail accounts,” McTier said. “Her strong background and experience with mass retailers will make Shari a great leader in planning effective sales strategies to drive sales of our licensees’ product for our retail accounts.” Black joins Warner Bros. Consumer Products, after a seven-year tenure at Disney Consumer Products where she most recently held a director position in retail sales and marketing. In her role, she partnered with Wal-Mart and Kmart and licensees to develop and implement account-specific business plans and promotions. Prior to her positions with Disney Consumer Products, Black gained extensive experience working for mass retailers, including Dillard’s Department Stores and Wal-Mart, where she worked as marketing and promotions manager for apparel merchandising. She also acquired sales experience as a key account sales director for Health Valley Foods calling on Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club accounts. Black holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas. Warner Bros.
