Telepictures Productions’ “Extra” Names Ben Lyons as Correspondent
(March 2, 2012 – Burbank, CA) – Ben Lyons has been named a correspondent for “Extra,” it was announced today by Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, Senior Executive Producer of “Extra.”
Lyons joins the daily syndicated entertainment news program as a correspondent. “Extra,” now in its 18th season with hosts Mario Lopez and Maria Menounos, is the second longest running entertainment magazine on television.
"I've had my eye on Ben for a long time. He's an entertainment news wunderkind...between his deep knowledge of entertainment and his close relationships in Hollywood. He will be a great addition to the best team on TV,” said Gregorisch-Dempsey.
"I'm excited to join the team at ‘Extra’ and I look forward to covering the biggest films and stories in pop culture. Working at ‘Extra’ is a great opportunity,” said Lyons.
Lyons also contributes content to Russell Simmons' GlobalGrind.com and will continue to serve as a contributor to KnicksNow.com, the official fan community site of the New York Knicks.
Prior to “Extra,” Lyons has been at E! for the past five years. Lyons most recently covered the Academy Awards on E!'s "Live From the Red Carpet” on Sunday, February 26.
