(May 10, 2004 – Burbank, CA) – Thomas Molter has been named to a newly created position of Vice President, Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures International. The announcement was made today by Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President, Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures International.
Reporting to Nancy Carson, Senior Vice President, Sales and Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures International, Molter will be responsible for, among many things, representing the Distribution interests in various growing needs including: systems development, anti-piracy efforts as part of the Studio’s newly formed team, and the monitoring of print movement and security. He will also be working hand-in-hand with the International Operations group in evaluating growth opportunities and emerging markets.
“We wanted to dedicate a person to reinforce and support some key areas of increasing importance to the subsidiary and the Studio. Tom is well-equipped for this position with his experience in trade policies, business trends and the international marketplace,” said Kwan-Rubinek.
Prior to joining Warner Bros. As Vice President, Molter was responsible for formulating policy and implementing strategies to address trade and regulatory issues relating to member company theatrical, home video/optical disc, television and international distribution in the United States and abroad. He also provided policy guidance and oversight to the MPA’s wide network of international offices as well as analysis of worldwide trends regarding business and marketplace regulation.
Previously, Molter worked for several years in television production, producing a nationally syndicated outdoor sports program based in San Francisco and serving as a business development consultant for Showtime Networks in New York and Samuel Goldwyn Television Production in Los Angeles.
Molter graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Communications/Journalism, and holds a MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
