Thomas Molter Promoted to EVP, Int’l Distribution and Exhibition Strategy
(June 13, 2014 – Burbank, CA) – Thomas Molter has been promoted to EVP, International Distribution and Exhibition Strategy, Warner Bros. Pictures International. In addition to his current responsibilities, Tom will serve as the key executive on all international exhibition issues, including setting the digital delivery and deployment strategy and spearheading strategic partnerships with exhibition and other parties to develop and implement new revenue opportunities. Tom will continue to coordinate with Domestic Distribution on these initiatives and also work closely with WB Technical Operations, Post Production and film makers on new technology developments, and ensuring the timely, efficient and cost effective delivery of WB's feature films to the international markets.
Tom is based at the Studio’s worldwide headquarters in Burbank and reports to Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures International. Said Kwan Vandenberg: "Tom has been integral in defining, negotiating and implementing WB's international digital strategy. He is an enormous asset to the division and will be instrumental in the collaboration between WB and the exhibition community and technology providers." In his new role, Tom will continue to work closely with Nancy Carson, EVP International Theatrical Distribution, Monique Esclavissat, EVP of European and Latin American Distribution, and Erlina Suharjono, Managing Director of China and SVP of Asia Distribution, to maximize the slate of WB films outside of the US/Canada.
Tom joined Warner Bros. in 2004 as Vice President, International Distribution and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2005. Before joining WB, he served as Vice President and Managing Director, Worldwide All Media, for the Motion Picture Association (MPA). Tom started his career in television, producing a nationally syndicated outdoor sports program based in San Francisco and serving as a business development consultant for Showtime Networks in New York and Samuel Goldwyn Television Production in Los Angeles.
Tom graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. in Communications and holds an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
