A Trio Of “Tarzans” Swing Onto DVD From Warner Home Video
(March 1, 2004 – Burbank, CA) – Warner Home Video (WHV) is bringing three very different portrayals of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ famed “Lord of the Apes” to DVD on June 8. The most beloved “classic” Tarzan adventures are found in a four-disc set featuring all six Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O’Sullivan films on three discs, with a fourth disc of extra content, including the new documentary “Silver Screen: King of the Jungle.” The “modern epic” Tarzan arrives in a 20th Anniversary all-new digital transfer DVD with “Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes” starring Christopher Lambert and Andie MacDowell. The last of the trio is the “erotic” Tarzan -- the 1981 remake of “Tarzan the Ape Man,” featuring Bo Derek and Miles O’Keeffe.
“The Tarzan Collection starring Johnny Weissmuller” will sell for $59.92 SRP; “Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes” and “Tarzan The Ape Man” will be priced at $19.97 SRP/$14.95 MAP.
