TV Court Judge Greg Mathis Appears On “The Steve Harvey Show"
(April 25, 2001 – New York, NY) - TV Court Judge Greg Mathis, of the nationally syndicated television court show, “Judge Mathis,” guest-stars on the WB hit comedy “The Steve Harvey Show" on Sunday, April 29, 2001 in an episode entitled "Here Comes the Judge." In this episode of "The Steve Harvey Show" marking the beginning of May sweeps, Judge Greg Mathis and his television courtroom make a special appearance to settle a dispute between Steve Hightower (Steve Harvey) and some of his students over a damaged electronic messaging device. The students take their case to Judge Mathis after he appears as a guest speaker in their classroom. ("The Steve Harvey Show" airs on the WB at 8:00 pm.)
In addition to his nationally syndicated court show, Judge Mathis is currently touring the country in the gospel production "Been There Done That" with gospel sensations Fred Hammond and Phyllis Yvonne Stickney. "Been There Done That" is a musical drama designed to inspire men and women to overcome life's obstacles.
“Judge Mathis” is a reality-based court show presided over by former district court Judge Greg Mathis, whose gang-to-gavel personal story is the inspiration for the series. As a young man, Greg Mathis was involved with gangs, dropped out of school, spent time in jail and then, as a promise to his dying mother, turned his life around. He attended college, earned a law degree, became the youngest judge in Michigan’s history and then served as a Superior Court Judge for Michigan’s 36th District. Known for running his courtroom with a no-nonsense style and streetwise sensibility, Mathis often uses himself as an example to those who appear before him.
“Judge Mathis” is produced by And Syndicated Productions and Telepictures Productions in association with Black Pearl Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. # # #
