Vanessa Williams Named Vice President, Media, Warner Bros. Pictures International
(November 18, 2003 – Burbank, CA) – Vanessa Williams has been named Vice President, Media, Warner Bros. Pictures International. The announcement was made today by Fiona Watts, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Warner Bros. Pictures International.
Reporting directly to Watts, Williams will develop and oversee the implementation of media planning for approximately 30 annual theatrical releases across 65 international territories. Among her additional duties include supervising and approving media budgets, evaluating media value attained from third-party promotional activity, monitoring advertising/publicity costs and spending, managing advertising agencies, and monitoring competitive media spends and strategies.
“Vanessa is a media professional who has worked on three continents for over 10 years, with top-ranked agencies in international, regional and local roles. Her years of experience as well as her international sensibilities make her a tremendous asset to our team,” commented Watts.
Williams joins Warner Bros. Pictures International from Universal McCann where she held various positions, most recently, as the Group Account Director in the New York office, where she was responsible for MasterCard and ExxonMobil media planning internationally.
She joined Universal McCann Worldwide as a Media Planner, based in London, and was soon promoted to Head of Media Planning for Universal McCann based in Jakarta, Indonesia, where clients included Nestle, Motorola, Cathay Pacific, MasterCard, L’Oreal, and UPS.
