While at HBO, she created the network’s original programming model and oversaw all aspects of original programming, including music, comedy, drama, documentaries and family-oriented fare. She also oversaw H.I.P., the network’s West Coast production company and HBO Downtown Productions, the company’s New York-based production operation. Through H.I.P. and HBO Downtown, Potter launched the long-running primetime series “Martin” and the late night talk show “Politically Incorrect,” respectively.
“We’re thrilled to have someone of Bridget’s experience and stature as the executive producer,” said Paratore. “Most people don’t know that Bridget started out in daytime television on ‘The Mike Douglas Show’ and recently spent three years as the executive in charge of ‘Conan.’ So she knows the audience and the genre in addition to being one of the most successful entertainment executives in the business. She has the skills to produce the show and the contacts to book it.”
Retaining the proven format of its predecessor and tailored to showcase Caroline’s unique and accessible point of view and comedic style, “The Caroline Rhea Show” will bring viewers everything they’ve come to expect and love as Rosie passes the baton to Caroline. The series will embody all of the traditions and high production values that made “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” a success and an Emmy Award winner season after season, including fun and revealing celebrity interviews, audience interaction, musical performances and humorous and heartwarming human interest stories.
